Check out this nice eco spa offering from the UK – this is how they describe themselves:

Titanic Spa, UK’s first Eco-Spa, has been designed within a traditional textile mill creating a brand new concept exclusively offering an unsurpassed spa experience. Favoured for its seclusion on the edge of the Pennines, this intimate spa has gone beyond the organic philosophy, offering exceptional results-driven spa treatments and products by Decléor, Elemis, Carita and ghd Spa, creating spa therapies to work in natural synergy with skin, body and mind.

The emphasis is on a holistic approach to treatments combined with a range of products to enable our customers to continue to gain therapeutic benefits once back into their normal daily routine. Here at Titanic Spa we have chosen Decléor, Elemis, Carita and ghd Spa because their treatments and products have the ability to soothe, relax and rejuvenate, while producing highly visible results for all skin types.

Attentive and individualised service is the hallmark of Titanic Spa. We promise that your time with us is both relaxing and enjoyable. Come visit us on your own, with a friend or even better with a partner.

Here is a nice review of the Titanic Spa from Times Online:

Discreet signs around the spa will tell you about the natural products, the local history, and the nearby borehole from which they get all their water — but Titanic does it all without raising its voice or lecturing its clientele.

The building has been restored using the old foundations and brickwork, and with some modern savvy, it is now carbon neutral and more than compensates for the excessive comforts on its ground floor. There is even an energy calculator on the wall showing how much energy is being generated by the solar panels — and how much this offsets.

The article quotes Warrick Burton, the spa director:

“It’s eco, but without ramming it down people’s throat; without the wellies.”

The Good Spa Guide also reviews the Titanic Spa positively for their treatment facilities, but was not impressed with every aspect of the spa:

“The UK’s first eco-spa earns full marks for excellent treatments but the split between spa and pool, and the lack of a place to sit and chat affected the spa experience.”
