Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has opened the Westin Pune Koregaon Park, one of six new Westin Hotels to open in India over the next three years.
The organisation, which runs a vacation ownership option, now has 25 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region and is planning to expand its footprint in India by 60 per cent by 2012.
Frits van Paasschen, president and chief executive officer for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, said that India, with the fastest growing population in the world, represents a notable opportunity for the firm as well as its partners.
Those that become part of the Westin Executive Club at Westin Pune Koregaon Park will get access to an open-air terrace, while three restaurants are also on offer at the hotel.
Two speciality restaurants offering Italian and Indian food can be found at the resort, as well as a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and the Heavenly Spa by Westin.
