Resort Hotel Converts Rooms To Add A Spa

The Caribe Royale is the latest Orlando-area resort to jump on the trend of hotels as relaxation, with the addition this summer of its Island Spa.

towelTo create the spa, the 1,338-room property near Walt Disney World converted two suites into private treatment rooms. The hotel is pairing overnight stays with spa treatments in packages starting at $217 a night.

According to the 2011 Portrait of American Travelers by Ypartnership and Harrison Group, spas are gaining in popularity among leisure travelers: 44 percent said using an amenity spa while on vacation was extremely or very desirable, compared with 39 percent a year ago.

“The addition of a new spa meets the current requirements and needs of our guests,” General Manager Gerald Urquiola said. “We’ve been pleased to provide a small selection of spa services for the past few years, and we’ve seen a tremendous increase in demand for these services.”
