North Queensland’s Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa has beaten off more than 70,000 competitors to be named among the top-10 spas world-wide.
It was voted the prestigious ranking in both ‘best boutique spa’ and ‘best environmental practices’ categories by readers of the SpaFinder publications.
The seventh-annual SpaFinder Readers’ Choice Awards asked voters to cast ballots for stay spas they have personally visited within the past three years.
Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa founder and owner Terry Maloney says to be rated by guests as world leaders is a huge honour.
“World recognition by spa travellers is the highest accolade. They’re acknowledging our small, close-knit team as offering an exclusive, unforgettable spa and ecotourism experience nestled in the Daintree Rainforest – an ecosystem that is 135 million years old and one of the earth’s most magical places,”
“And with discounted flights to Cairns and great package deals on offer, there’s never been a better time for Australians to sample what discerning international SpaFinder readers selected as the world’s best,” he says.
Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa was created with a vision to be a world leader combining experiences of nature, nurture and culture.
By focusing on Aboriginal culture, conservation and holistic wellness offerings, the Lodge operates with minimal impact to the fragile and pristine environment and is committed to world best practices and ecotourism principles.
The awards represent the most comprehensive consumer assessment of the global spa market available today.
Over 360,000 votes were submitted for favourite spas by continent, country, and region across 27 categories.
